Autism and ADHD assessments
OT assessments (e.g, motor skills, sensory profiles)
Functional Capacity Assessments
Additional reports may sometimes be requested for NDIS or DSP purposes.
-
Psychoeducational assessments are for children aged 6+ and adolescents. They can help build understanding of how a young person learns, thinks, concentrates, remembers, and manages everyday learning demands.
They may be helpful when there are questions about dyslexia, dyscalculia, giftedness, intellectual disability, attention, concentration, memory, organisation, or broader learning and school-related concerns.
-
Yes. We offer Autism and ADHD assessments for children, adolescents, and adults.
Medicare rebates may be available in some circumstances for eligible clients under 25 referred by a paediatrician or psychiatrist.
Please note that Psychologists in Australia do not prescribe medication. If ADHD medication is being considered, a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist is required.
-
Yes. Our Autism and ADHD assessments aim to be supportive, strengths-based, and neurodiversity-affirming.
At the same time, for diagnostic, reporting, and funding purposes, the assessment process may still need to use formal medical and deficit-based language where this is required by diagnostic frameworks, external agencies, or funding bodies. Where this occurs, we aim to balance those requirements with a respectful and affirming approach that recognises the whole person, not just areas of difficulty.
-
The assessment process usually begins with information gathering, where the practitioner gathers information about the current concerns, background history, development, and day-to-day functioning.
Depending on the type of assessment, this may also include questionnaires, interviews, school reports, standardised assessment tools, and information from parents, carers, teachers, support people, or other relevant adults.
After all assessment measures are completed, a feedback session is usually arranged around 4–6 weeks later, and the report generally follows 1–2 weeks after the feedback session.
-
Assessment fees vary depending on the type of assessment and whether one or more areas are being explored. Please contact our administration team for guidance and an estimated cost based on your needs.
